College Scholarship Program

Program Information

Apply once and have the opportunity to win up to three scholarships. When you apply for a scholarship with Saratoga Federal you will also have a chance to earn a scholarship through the New York Credit Union Association at the state and regional levels.  

Scholarships awarded may range from $500 to $1,500 and may be used at a two or four-year accredited educational institution, trade school or vocational school.

What you will need:

  • Scholarship Applciation:  Download, complete and save the application.  The application will be uploaded in the Scholarship Portal.  Don't forget to document our Verfication Code at the top right of the application.  You can obtain this code by calling the credit union at 518.583.2323.   The application must be completed and signed by both the applicant and a parent/guardian.

  • High School Transcript:  Save a digital copy to upload in the Scholarship Portal.
  • Essay:  Save a digital file of your essay to upload in the Scholarship Portal.

If you are unable to submit your application online, please bring your completed application and supporting documents to Saratoga Federal and we will submit them on your behalf.

  • May 2025:  Winners Announced


Eligibility


Applicants MUST be:

  • Member of Saratoga Federal
    Not a member, open an account with as little as $5.00
    Live, work, worship or attend school in Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties, New York, you can open an account.
  • College-bound high school senior at the time of application
  • Attending a two or four-year accredited educational institution for the first time in the Fall of 2025
  • Trade and Vocational Schools are also be eligible

Applications will be scored by an independent, external organization.  Judging will be based on academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities, and the essay.
